Default Electronic cutouts

Do any of you have these? Friend of mine had one on his WRX and the spool and boost kicked in a hell of a lot earlier than having full exhaust. I currently have an Apexi N1 on my Si and instead of getting completely new exhaust (fabbing or purchasing pre fabbed) I was thinking keeping the N1 for now and running an electronic dump in the place of the cat. I dont have emissions where I live so I can do this no problem. Also are there any major issues with these and what are the costs involved usually?

Aside from the legality, it should be ok, but - don't you have a 2ndary O2 sensor in the cat? In the 99-00 Si there was a sensor and when the exhaust was too short, the 2ndary would throw a code at idle, presumably because too much 'clean' air was getting up the exhaust. If you remove this sensor, you can get an O2 simulator that will take care of the code.

Oh word!
Well, the only thing you may still have is an O2 sensor showing lean condition and causing a CEL, depending on how close it is to the end of the pipe, otherwise go for it. I used to take off my axle-back stock exhaust on my 99 si turbo. It sounded a little cooler but didn't make any difference in my ET's
