Default ECUs??????????????

I know I dont post here that much but I do a lot of reading tho.... I tried the search and came up with basically nothing

Ok I know that 96-98 ex has a obd2a (p2p) and a 99-00 ex has a obd2b (p2p)(both running a D16Y8).

My question is this. I keep hearing people say that the p28 is better to tune with than the P2P. I am gonna get a new ECU to have sent out to get the speed limiter removed. This also frees up my old ECU for some things Im gonna play with. Anywho should I get the P2P OBD2B or the P28?? What would the "tuning" diffrences be in the two?? Help I dont know much about the D series ECUs and have a guy from portland coming up to sell me a P2P for 30 bucks (not sure yet if its 2A or 2B)

what if you were later to get a hondata?? By using that you could still get all your tuning in with no problems? How is the tuning diffent in the ecus if you would have to chip both?

OBD II ecus requiring changing of more parts to chip them. OBD I ecus are far easier and less costly to chip because they require only minor modifications. If you get a P28 and Hondata it's fuel and timing curves can be easily changed by anyone capable of burning Hondata chips very cost effectively. If you stick with OBD II then it'll cost you a chunk of change everytime you want to make any alterations. Their are other advantages to OBD I as well. For instance there is no input for a secondary O2 sensor and as such throws no CEL w/ a test pipe or hollow cat. Additionally OBD I equipped vehicles alledgedly respond better to mods.
