Default P28 question

I'm looking for a P28 to set up Hondata in my hybrid hatch. Because i live in UK, the P28's over here are found in Civic Esi (SOHC Vtec). D16 something, can't remember the engine code. Is this ECU the same as the USDM P28? Because i thought the P28's are found in Civic Si which is B16A?

Will hondata be compatable with this ECU?
Or should i just email the guys at Hondata?

So that means it's good to go with Hondata?

The p28 for the d series is the right one because over here the si/ex were not b series. Hondata changes most of the ecu functions anyways so thats how you get away with running that ecu on the b series.

The p30 is the OBD1 ecu that came in the earlier b16a's like the del Sol VTEC. So you're good to go with the p28. Probably the most common ECU used.

Thanks for the good replies guys. Hondata has a P08J listed on their website for compatable ECU's. I have a P08 from my JDM D15B. If what your saying is true about using any OBDI then i could just use this and save money buying the P28??

if its going to run a vtec motor then you have to convert the ecu to vtec but it is possible
