ECU SECURITY QUESTION?
Ok, I have a question regarding take the ecu on and off the harness! Every night before I put my car to sleep, I put my autolock on and I disconnect my ecu! Is the ECU in anyway in jeporady of getting damaged?
If the ignition is off, probably not. But repeated removal and reconnection of the the connector may eventually lead to wear problems and subsequent failure. In addition, the ECU will need to relearn idle and other operating parameters, depending on the system type. I would advise against the practice.
i unplug my ecu, just as long as u turn the ignition on and off a few times before u start the car, if u unplug ur harness the wrong way by pulling on the wires itll lead to tear. what i suggest is hidden kill switches such as a fuel pump cut off, ignition kill or so on. or sleep in the car, haha jk

Definitely. Check out the audio/video/security forum for a nice writeup on installing kill switches.
