ECU pins... how do I remove them from the plug?
I'm trying to remove a pin from the ECU plug on my 95 civic. I have the little plastic hinge up, but I can't figure out where the release that I have to push on is. Can anyone give me some help here? I've tried digging around in there with a needle and a jeweler's screwdriver from both the front of the plug and the back (where the wires go in) but I can't figure out where the release mechanism is. Can anyone help me or does anyone maybe have a picture of one of the pins so I can see what it looks like and where the release is?
I'm pleading... someone... i see the little plastic piece but how the hell do I push it down... I can't fit a screwdriver in there and needles just bend when I try to push the plastic down.
get a jewler screwdriver set, from sears or any home improvement store. look from the back of the plug, into a empty hole/slot and you'll notice a tab wich holds the pin from the bottom. with the smallest flat head screwdriver in the set, stick it in the front of the plug in the slot bellow the pin. using the screw driver, try to pull the tab down. once you pull this plastic tab down with the screwdriver, pull the wire and it should come out. just repeat this, for the rest of the wires you want to remove! good luck!
