Default Early rev-limiter????

I just recently changed the headgasket on my '95 GSR motor and after i get on it for about 3 gears, i lose vtec, and my revlimiter kicks in at like 6800 RPM's (instead of the normal 8300 RPM's). It doesn't do it at first, I have to stay into the trottle for a little bit. I was thinking that they might have sold me a ls headgasket, but i dont know if it would create that problem. Any sugestions?

The car is a delsol with a JRSC on a '95 GSR motor.

i don't think the ls and gsr gaskets are different, being that they are the same bore, it sounds like you may have a problem with your ignition system, i had an issue just like yours, my fix to my problem was it was a bad coil

Ok, I'll look into that. Its also giving me a trouble code 22 (VTEC presure switch).

I think you have the wrong headgasket. Remember that the LS didn't have VTEC, and the GS-R does. Therefore the LS headgasket doesn't have a passage for the oil supply to the VTEC solenoid. Without oil to the solenoid, the VTEC oil pressure sensor will set a code 22 and VTEC can't engage, as there's no oil to move the pins in the rockers. Try taking off the VTEC solenoid and see if it's getting oil or not.

Well thats what i was thinking also, but I have vtec some of the time, its just when i hammer on it through 3 or more gears.

I just wasn't sure if the ls headgasket would cause it or not.

To me it almost seams like the engine is pumping all the oil to the top of the engine, and its not returning in time so when i hit the 3rd or so gear, there no more to pump.

I dont know much about the differences of the ls, gsr and so on, so i have no clue as to what is wrong!!! But i can tell you it sucks!!!!
