a dumb oil changing question
OK, every damm time i change my oil, the oil from the oil filter gets all over my exhaust, and smokes for a day from all the oil that spilled out when i removed the filter. Is there a way to get the oil out of the filter before i remove it. thanks
Uhhh, no. What kind of car do you have man? If it's a b or h series block you just unscrew it and hold the filter in your hand. After that, crawl from underneath the car and dump it in the oil pan. If you can't do that then just get a towel every time you change your oil and wipe down the part of your exhaust that gets oil on it.
Easy fix..
Put a walmart bag over the exhaust when you change the oil. Oil drips on the bag, throw away the bag and you are left with a clean exhaust.
