Default dry dip stick

just wondering, sometimes i check my oil at its at the ok level. but i'll check it again later and the dip stick is bone dry. if the car is on a hill will the oil go to one side of the pan and not on the dip stick? i know for sure that theres oil in there because before i did my oil change the stick was dry, but 4 quarts came out. thanks

if ur front end is higher than the rear, the oil will completely not touch the dipstick sometimes because its in the rear of the oil pan..

hope that helps ya out!

That is why you check the oil on a flat surface ie: gas station!
