Default Drivetrain problems with my CRX

I have a 89 HF with a B series, and y1 cable tranny. I have been experiencing problems with the drivetrain. I drove my car home one day from a shop and when i got into the drive way, i noticed it wouldnt go into gear. I played with the clutch pedal and it finally went into gear. Later that night I went to a car meet. Car drove fine the whole way there, I get there chill, and when it's time to leave, that bitch won't go into gear again. So a friend helped me and we fiddled with the Clutch Cable a little, and finally we got it to work. So i drove it stragiht home. Ever since, it wont go into gear, So I replaced the Clutch Cable because on my SOHC tranny and this DOHC tranny I've experienced the Clutch Pedal to stick from time to time. So i Ordered one from Majestic, Swapped it out yesterday, and No luck. I'm afraid its time for a new clutch. But I wondered why it would work, not work and then work again. All i know is ACT sucks. Please give me a few suggestions to what could be wrong before i spend lots of money.

Thanks

the working and non working could be associated with heat problems. when you drive it clutch could heat up, then when it cools down (after ur car meet) your disc could get messed up, or the friction surfaces on either PP or flywheel could expand/contract causing a change in engagement point.

When your clutch DOES work, does it grab hard or not? If it does then to me it sounds like your pp/flywheel friction surfaces are worn.

drop the tranny and tell us what you see.

after i got the bitch to go into gear and left the meet, I drove it straight home, and on the drive home in between shifts the clutch pedal would stick half way down, it felt like the clutch was still partially engaged the whole time, because it smelt like burning brakes. I'm just gonna say **** it and get a new clutch.
