dpfi to mpfi ....... just a few extra questions ......
ok .. i get the jist of the conversion..... ive got a 90 dx that we are gonna put a d16a6 into(rex si motor)
anyway .. fisrt thing i wanted to know is why do you have to use the mpfi distributor??? what is dirrent in the wiring???? does the mpfi ecu look for diffrent pinouts or something?????
and after i know why .... id like to know exactly what has to be wired diffrently .....
also .. for the conversion .. ive heard alot of comfusing things ... but i think i got the jist of the actual wiring .. so tell me if this sounds right...
i understand how to wire each injector to the ecu ... that is fine .... now .. all i have left to do is........
1. tie the two yellow/black wires on the dpfi together
2. run a like from the 2 connected yellow/black to the yellow black on the resitor box
3. run each of the other wires from the injectors to one of the red wires on the resitor box....
is that all there is too it???? does it matter to which red wire on the restirctor box a particular injector is wired to or does it now matter....
all help would be great!!! thanks guys!!!!

you have to use the mpfi distributor for the cylinder position sensor. without this, the PM6 ecu will run only in limp mode.
the mpfi ecu has different pinouts when concerning injectors and distributor related sensors, for example, the cylinder position sensor and the crank angle sensor.
perhaps if you looked up the wiring diagrams, and compared them, you'd find out what I just told you, on your own.
