dowel pins for ls/vtec. how does it work?
like the title says. i know it comes with 2 pins but how exactly do they work? i mean don't you have to cap the origial hole where the oil goes through and tap another one?

Jeff-
The dowel pins go where the head studs are. Neither the ones on the LS block or the vtec head will work. You can either have the holes opened up a little to give room for the pins, leave them off and risk having an oil leak, or get dowel pins that fit both the head and the block. I did #3. I used a lathe and made some pins out of aluminum for me and some friends.

i meant to say...am i better off take it to the machine shop and have 'em weld and drill new hole on the head since the pin doesn't fit well?

Jeff-
they dont weld anything. i just had them bore the two rear(i think) dowel pin holes ou to 14mm and i just used those two. here:

they did a lsvtec and a crvtec buildup which is the same thing. goto their how-to section to see it. it will help alot. they cover everything.
