DIY Shift Light

Does anyone know how to make a shift light? I was looking for one but I don't want a 2" light shining in my eyes. I also don't want to pay 150 for a led shift light. I was looking for a diy site that would have the "how to". No Luck though..

Anyone know how or know a website to look?

I bought a sequential shift light from rev-lite.com. They posted my dash pic in their gallery, I mounted it just below the gauges on top of the plastic bezel.
