its very easy as long as you have a timing light and know how to set your timing.

its plug and play, then you just make shure the timing bolt is right in the middle. but if you never done it its kinda hard. it only take 5 minutes or less so dont worry just let your friend do it

Marking lines might not cut it since you'd have to transfer the lines to the new distributor. It's too precise to allow that much error. But, if you're gonna do it, err to the side of a little too much timing.

You should be able to rent a timing gun from Autozone. Full priced deposit, full refund when you return it. Just don't shoot yourself in the eye with it.

Base ignition timing is 16 deg BTDC.

If you have a screwdriver, a flathead, and can remember where pieces/spots are, and can pop in and out things, via the rotor, distributor, the spark plug wires. Easy stuff mang, if you got a prob just post back, ill let you know.

You don't need a timing gun. Take the three bolts off, and mark where they were origanally positioned. Pull the distributor out, mark the rotor.

Put the new one in. it will only go in one way with the camshaft, thus the timing is not greatly affected so long as the lines and marks face each other.

i did one about 1 week ago, and had the timing checked before and after and both were exactly the same.

Took about 10 mins to do.

are you ****** serious????????
Timing gun? you don't need no stinking timing gun!!!!

Three bolts bitch and it comes off then put then new one on, that simple, 3 bolts again and the top bolt (facing the bottom end of the hood) is where you set the timing. Put that bolt closest to the middle as you can DONE wtf its like pullin teeth

Which has already been stated 10 times and needlessly brought up again.
