My distrubutor is making some noise...scraping metal on metal. Pulled it off..its hard to turn..its also got "red dust"? all over it(inside), not white. Anyway...I was wondering what is inside there? is it oil'ed? or would the scraping sound becomeing from the spline things behind the rotor.

 

There is a bearing inside of there and it is going bad. It is time for you to get a new one. I had the same noise on my b16 dizzy and it went out in a matter of days.

 

i need a distributor for my b16a2..... which cars/engine's distributors will be interchangeable with mine? Thank you

I had the same problem with my distributor and just replaced it a few weeks ago. You have to buy a whole new housing new from honda is like $400 i think, good luck.
