i've got a h23 and my distributor is makin a funny sound. it squealin and it sounds like metal rubbin metal. can anyone gimme a clue as to what the problem is or will i have to replace the whole distributor, if so how much does a distributor go for?

 

Could be the bearing about to sieze up, if so, thats bad news. Definately check on it because if it siezes up you will have a hefty bill ahead of you.

Replaceing the distributor will cure the problem if it is the bearing. From your description, that's what I would guess.

 

Usually throws a code though if it is... Could just be the rotor..

 

open it up and see if anything looks out of place in there. if u decide to buy a new dist, buy mine, i have a new one (with mfr warranty 1yr) $170 + ship.
