Chipmunk in my distributor?
WTF does it mean when you hear something like a chipmunk in the distributor? It's an intermittent sound. Just imagine a chipmunk or squirrel eating an acorn or something. lol. I've never heard this noise before. I've had coils and ignitors go out on me and never had this symptom. Could it be the wires arcing somewhere? I dont see how they are arcing at the distributor if that is the case....
Thanks guys!

i would guess i have heard this sound... Im gonna have to say the bearing on the distributor is Gone... Take the distributor off abd turn the end of it with your hand if it makes the noise.. and feels lumpy.. thats your problem.
Pretty sure it isnt the bearing. I took the distributor off 2 weeks ago to change the O-Ring and it turned fine. I'll take it off again tomorrow and check it out...
I'll also pull the cap and check for colored dust...

I had one go out on me so quick, it chewed up the sensor(s) inside before I knew wtf was the problem. Luckly I still got the $ for it as a core exchange.

The bad one I have is an obd-0 LS dist. I have 2 obd-0 B16 distributors sitting around in perfect condition. Can I just swap out the bearings?
