which is better and why?
im putting an oem ITR lsd into my 2000 gsr trans. first off im confused if the 00 gsr has the enclosed bearings or the exposed?
second if it has the open is it worth stepping up to the enclosed for any reason? or can i just reuse the old bearings, since they only have about 50k on them?
(im speaking about the bearings that go on either end of the differential in case that was confusing...see below for pic of enclosed so its clear).

i believe most people switch over to the enclose bearings cause you just press them on and your done. also with them you only use one shim with the others theres a shim on each side. the gsr's and type r's have the exposed bearings i think.

but is there ne difference in performance or how long they hold up?

the taper bearings give the diff more movement freedom for example side shifting is easier on the diff casing and such rather than a solid bearing assembly...just some food for thought...there is nothing wrong with roller taper bearings....to each their own though
