Default Different VTEC for ITR intake manifold?

I remember RK and I talking about this quite some time ago, but we couldn't really come to a conclusion. He was saying that in order for an ITR or Skunk2 IM to work well with a GSR, it's better to raise the vtec engagement point to stock itr rpm, than the gsr rpm of 4400. Why would raising the vtec make a difference in power? Also wouldn't the top end be the same no matter what?

well first of all, the gsr and type-r run different ecus. therefore different fuel maps and igntion timing (correct me if im wrong)? second yes raising the vtec point to 5700 rpm and running the skunk2 manifold will offer a gain in power in most cases. remember vtec operates only if , engine temp, oil pressure, vss, some other ish is functional. honestly turning or lowering the vtec point is to smoothen out the powerband of any vtec powerplant depending on what you have done to it
