when does vtec kick in??
i have a 95 gsr and i cant really feel when the vtec kicks in. Is there a way that i can make the vtec stronger or feel the vtec more? wut kind of parts?
honda engineers designed your car so that you wouldn't really feel vtec kick in. If you want to feel vtec kick in more look into getting a skunk2 intake manifold and save up more pennies for all the other all motor mods... I see your new here so I really recommend reading a lot of old threads to learn about the engines.
you cant feel it, but you can hear it. I seem to hear it the most in 3rd and 4th gear. When you are getting on the freeway, floor it in 3rd. You will hear it when the secondaries kick it at around 6k rpm. Its also not as noticable in teh GSR because the way the intake manifold is designed. You can hear it very clearly with the b16
yee u can do that or can get a vtec controller

Which will do what exactly, ruin the torque curve and screw the dynamics of the stock engine? VTEC controllers are only needed on motors with a pissload of INTERNAL modifications, that is unless your pockets have holes burnt through them.

(+dyno time needed)
VTEC on a '95 GSR kicks in at 5600 RPMS, When all I had was a CAI i could feel it and definitely hear it as you mod it more you will be able to feel more and more. Atleast that has been my experience.

vtec on any stock gsr kick in at 4400 rpm that is when the cam switchover occurs, it is silent and not something you hear like in an ITR or B16. your SECONDARY runners open up at 5600rpm and that is what most people would think is the VTEC sound on a gsr. to hear vtec on a B18C1, get a single runner manifold (skunk2, JG, etc) and some different cams, itr, ctr, skunk, toda, jun, crower, etc etc. that and a new ECU or VTEC controller.

Exactly!
My Ls/vtec teg has no header, no high flow cat, no exhaust, and when the vtec comes on at 5250rpm (vafc) the car sounds soooooo loud, its pretty cool, but even better (for sound quality only), after about 6grand the car sounds like its spooling up till i hit the redline... Only to know that that sound is bad, its backed up exhaust pressure, time for an ITR header and high flow cat......LOL
