Default Differences between D16A6 and D16W1 Engine

What are the main differences between the D16A6 and D16W1 Engines?

I have a car fitted with a D16A6. I have seen a HR-V in a local junkyard in London UK with a D16W1 Engine.

I am interested in rebuilding an engine as a hobby/project if I could get the engine cheaply enough.

Would the D16W1 block and head by the same as the D16A6? Could components such as the distributor and fuel system be swapped between the two?

Thanks for any replies.

D16 blocks, by and large, are all the same.

The W1 is pretty much identical to the USDM D16Y7 so generally speaking you can swap out whatever shortblock for most any other d16 shortblock and keep the head you were already using so everything runs without having to mess with sensors/VTEC/etc.

Thanks for the replies.

Both of these engines are non VTEC, although the positions of the distributor mounting holes are different on each head.
