Ok experts, I have a few questions that I need answered if yall don't mind. I did try searching and found bits and pieces but nothing that seemed to actually answer my questions.

I just bought a B18B motor (OBD2) but I don't see the vin stickers that everyone talks about on the bottom of the block, I believe. I saw the thread that says B16's engines can be identified by the plugs.... OBD0= white plugs, OBD1= grey plugs/grey injector clips, and OBD2= 2 grey plugs/black injector clips; does this stand true for B18's as well?

Also, the block code under B18 is 1304663 and the sticker on the tranny reads Y21-2006095. Is there a way to tell the year the engine by these codes? I've read where some say that the series of an OBD starts with 1 and whatever number follows (this instance the 3) is equivalent to the year simply by counting up from the beginning year of the series (94+). If this is true, does that mean I have a 97 LS? I've also read that 1 series are US engines and 5 series are JDM. As you can see there is alot of conflicting info and I'm lost as to what is factual. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

1304663..the 1 indicates that its a 94..obd1..and the vin stickers didnt come out until 96+.

 

Anyone else? What about the plugs?
