Difference in Dyno?
After posting this in the drag forum, i felt it was not something i should post there, but here, so im posting it again, sorry.
anyway,
At our school, we have an ooooold dyno wich has two rollers where you put your drive wheel on to get the hp.
Is this any different from the dynos used in magazines, like dynopack, sakuradyno, etc?
the best anyone has pulled on this dyno is i believe 280something hp, and i know some cars can pull 1khp 12khp, like a built skyline and etc. are these numbers (1000hp skyline, etc) actually from the wheel or would this be from the the trans, hub, etc?
I got in to a discussion with my classmate about hp, and he told me, "even a nascar only puts 600something hp to the wheel while the engine could be putting out 1400hp" or something in that range.... is this true?
sorry if it might be confusing.
thanx
