Default Diagnose my engine problems please....

OK, today I started my car for the first time in 13months. I have a rebuild B18C1 bottom end with a rebuilt B16A2 head. I converted the car to OBD1 using a stock p28.

The problems so far are cel 14 (IAC). I am not sure what to do to fix this. I took the sensor off, but what am I looking for? It has a good seal against the manifold and worked before the rebuild.

I am also running RC 310 injectors because I converted the injector clips to RC clips and they don't fit the stock set of OBD1 injectors I have. I am wondering if the 310's may cause any problems?

The car idles high around 1k. It pulls about 15inches (I think it is measured in inches?) of vacuum at idle. Shouldn't this be higher?

When I step on the gas the car surges. Not like a missfire, more like a vacuum leak. There is noise coming from the head like it needs a valve adjustment. I just did a valve adjustment, so I am thinking I may have done it wrong? I have read that a bad valve adjustment can cause your car to run badly or not at all.

I know this may be vauge, but I hate to write a long discription that nobody wants to read. Please let me know if you have any thoughts or need any more info. I will post a pic later to show you what I am dealing with.

It could be a vaccuum leak, air in your coolant, or possibly a bad IACV.

I know I have air in my coolant. I didn't run it long enough to burp it because it was running badly. I didn't think that could cause a problem. Tomarrow I am going to do a valve adjustment with looser clearances, gap my plugs, take apart my IAC valve, and go from there. When we-todd-did-racing is up again I will post a pic.

Today I did another valve adjustment. .007 on the intake and .008 on the exhaust. I drained the gas out of the tank and then put 2 gallons of fresh gas in. I also plugged a vacuum leak in the intake manifold. The result is a car that runs worse than before!!!!

It is acting like the timing is off. I pulled the plugs and they smelled like gas. I am running RC 310 injectors because none of the OEM injectors I have will plug into the RC clips. Could that be part of the problem? I am also getting cel 14 still (IAC). Not sure how to fix that either.

Any help is appreciated!!!!
