Default Detonation on new motor?

What are the ways I can reduce/eliminate detonation on my new High compression motor?

Im in California, so all I can get is 91 readily (100, I can get, but I will have to travel far to get it) I have set the timing back to 10 degrees and still get slight pinging sometimes while accelerating.

BTW, Car has not been dynomater tuned yet because it is still breaking in. Hopefully it can be tuned out.

Do you have anything to richen up your a/f..... If you have a fuel pressure regualtor try bumping it up a lil or if you have a VAFC or something like that try richening it up a few percent. Can you back down your timing any lower than 10 degrees??? If not just try to dump more fuel for now. If none of that works try bigger injectors

10 degrees of timing isnt much....probably makes it run like a warm turd....sounds like your car needs some major tuning? eh?
