Default transmission install questions....

Do I have to tighten up the transmission bolts to any torque specification, or just tighten them till it's good and tight?
Do I just bolt up the transmission, is there anything I need to do before bolting it up? Thanks in advance.

"installation is the reverse of removal"

LOL!

dunno the torque specs off hand, but 'pretty tight' should do it

make sure you do a spanner check after 100miles and again at 1000miles...

make sure hte clutch is centred before trying to slide he tranny on...

HTH,

what's a spanner check? and how do I know if the clutch is centered, I don't think my clutch kit came with an alignment tool.

a spanner check is just going over all the nuts and bolts that were undone/doneup to check they are still tight.

it is a good habit to get into...

if the transmission goes on
its centered. edit: reason? the transmission passes through the clutch and into the pilot bearing. if it goes all the way in, the clutch is centered.
and my helms dosent give torque specs so my guess would be "tight enough"
probably in the 40-50ft lb range. its a big bolt.

here is the thread - https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=228477&page=1

the clutch plate is centred when you can fit the tranny on.

if it is NOT centred teh tranny wont slide into position...

Of the top of my head, the tranny to block bolts are 40ft-lbs. I usually just hit them with an impact. The important ones to torque down are the flywheel and pressure plate bolts. Take a wheel sander and rough up the mating surfaces of the flywheel and pressure plate and keep them clean. Make sure you grease all the needed parts, input shaft, t/o bearing, clutch fork, etc. and you should be fine. Aren't you in Louisiana? I'm down here if you need any help.
