My del sol has a dead cigarette lighter. I read somewhere that a bad ash tray bulb would cause this, so I changed that out, as it needed changing anyway. The light works, but still no cigarette lighter. The fuse looks alright. Any ideas? Maybe they don't have it wired with the aftermarket HU? (it's on the same fuse)

 

Take off the piece of the dash plastic that the cig lighter is attached to and look to see that it's even plugged in. Often when installing a new stereo deck people simply forget to plug them back in.

 

I had taken the center console apart and I remember plugging it in. No juice....

 

The ashtray bulb has nothing to do with lighter power, they are two differant circuits, bulb is on illumination circuit and lighter is on a 12V constant circuit.

Does the stereo hold memory, radio presets and clock?
If not the fuse is bad, if so there is a connection problem to the lighter. 94

 

Radio and clock are fine. Corrosion on the socket maybe?

 

Maybe, you will have to pull it out, unplug the lighter and test the lead for power. 94
