d17 tranny on EK?

Default d17 tranny on EK?

Anyone know if a tranny from a 2001+ civic (d17) will bold up to a d16y7 engine? Thanks!!!

don't know for a fact, but I've heard that the d series trannies can be mixed and matched.

I have heard that too, but I'd kinda like to know for sure before I shell out the money for the tranny. Thanks!!!

I don't know if they can be mix and matched, but I can tell you that they're pretty terrible! Check over on 7thgencivic.com and see how many people have had them explode on them! Several people have had them do it more than once.

I am almost 100% sure that it will fit because I have bolted the D15B block to my D17 gearbox (which is in my 03 Civic shell) and it bolted directly with no problems at all. So I believe that since the D17 gearbox can bolt to the d15B Block then it should bolt directly to the D16Y8 or the Y7 blocks as well.

you must of done a lot of wiring changes to make that work.....d15b in a 03 civic...bah...
