D16z6 - P1382 CYP Fault Code
I'm getting this code:
P1382 Honda Description
The cylinder position (CYP) sensor consists of a rotor and a pick-up coil that detects rotor position. When the rotor turns after starting the engine, the changes of magnetic flux in the pick-up coil are converted into pulsing signals to the engine control module (ECM)/powertrain control module (PCM). The CYP sensor detects the position of the No.1 cylinder for sequential fuel injection.
I did a continuity test from the CYP signal and ground from the dizzy to the ECU and it checks out.
How can this even go bad, the pick up is just a magnet....
***FIXED*****
It was a bad ECU, I replaced it and no longer got the CYP P1382 code. I honestly think this was because of me wiring up the distributor improperly (obd1 to obd2) and damaging the ecu. Hope this helps someone, pm me if you need help. It was a bitch when I went through this because I didn't think the ECU could go bad that easily.
