Default d16z6 build up need advice

I purchased a perfectly running d16 swap for 300 with 200k miles
I am building the motor for boost
what is going in.....
turbopanda b16-toyota rod piston package
acl bearings
arp studs (head and rod)

Now I have never built a motor before
should I resurface the cylinder walls
and should I get a block guard
what about messing with the crank. or should i leave it be?

Also do I need to have it balanced or should I just assemble it with the new parts

BTW the head will be milled .020 and ported with new valve springs and retainers

if you are going turbo I wouldn't mill the head, instead just surface it about 3 thousandths, .003". If you are running under 14 psi you don't need to do anything to the block as in sleeves or block guard but if you are going above that, you will NEED something. Have the crank polished or ground, which ever it needs, new acl bearings would be great. I'd get new stainless steel valves before I changed the springs, and Id leave the retainers alone since those ti retainers are a wear item as in the need to be changed at normal intervals, more or less than 20,000 miles depending on cam profile and other variables. Also, get hondata.

Your biggest weak point here is the D16Z6 bottom end. It will handle up to 6psi fine but any more I suggest beefing up your bottom end first. Since your motor has that many miles on it, it would be a good idea to replace the worn internals with new parts, especially the water pump, oil pump, and timing belt. Stronger rods, valves, bearings, and gaskets with a sleeved or a block guard will make the D hold up with more boost and increase engine reliability. A new clutch or flywheel in the tranny will also increase reliability as well as make sure the ponies are being put to the wheels properly.

Your an idiot. For starters, last time I checked my water pump, oil pump, and timing belt weren't inside my motor...I'm not even gonna bother. Yososlo you already got some good advice earlier, just save yourself the time and don't read that last post.

you don't need to beef up your bottom end for something a little over 6psi
