WHAT TURBO KIT WOULD YOU GUYS RECOMEND FOR THE D16Y8 MOTOR. LOOKING FOR FULL BOOST AT AROUND 3500-4000. SOMETHING THAT WILL MAKE 300WHP FOR DAILY DRIVEN AND MORE FOR THE TRACK. I WAS LOOKING INTO THE FULL RACE SETUP WHAT YOU GUYS THINK. WOULD ALSO LIKE TO KNOW ANYBODYS SET UP

 

300WHP for a "daily" setup with more on tap for race day.... stock block, bolt on turbo kit, full boost @ 3500rpm..

I think you might want to look into the "in your dreams incorported" turbo kit. I hear it makes 500whp and spools @ 1000 rpm on a 1.3L.

 

I'd say build the block if your shooting for 300hp. It's been done, but without good tuning your gonna blow. My y8 has a t3 48/60 off a 87 t-bird. Right about 4000 is full boost. Build the rest of the kit yourself. It's cheaper.

 

Have you ever driven a 300whp boosted car on the street before.. If not then you should before you plan on doing it to yours..

A stock d16y8 is going to be hard to make 300whp.. If you build the engine and all that then it can be done..
