d16y8 to d16y7 swap

Default d16y8 to d16y7 swap

i got a 99 civic ex d16y8 and it was knocking so buddys said get a y7 and swap thwm so i got a y7 block used my y8 head,intake,distributor,harness,computer,all the sensors,y8 timing belt cam gear water pump crank pully starts up wont rev past 5k so i unhook vtec put y7 computer in and it revs all the way now runs slugish so i checked timein it was 180 so i put it dead center amd wouldnt start at all so i put it back to 180 out and turned distributor to wear no holes lime up and used bolt amd washer to keep it from turning runs great now what could be my problem im not a honda guy

Recheck the timing at the belt make sure it's in spec.

Wow, stressed out or some **** I guess but I read that as Redneck not recheck, lolz! In all seriousness, you should check the timing belt to make sure it is in spec

it has the y8 timing belt in it thats what everyone said to use
