It should run fine.. But your tuning is going to be a little off..

Whenever you run an ecu that is not exactly meant for the engine it was tuned for then your going to have off tuning.. If its for a stock motor I would just run it and be done..

It may throw a CEL for the Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation Sensor I think since the obd1 and older engines never had the sensor. I'm not really sure how you would mount one on the older engines either?

Forgot about that.. It might need some sensors that your obd1 motor doesnt have..

Maybe switch to OBD1 and just buy a jumper harness? OBD2 is hassle and not tuner happy

yeah, just like the others have mentioned, you'll run into some sensor issues, these ones mainly when using a non-OBD2 SOHC engine + Y7 ECU in an EK:

- As mentioned: CKF sensor (located on OBD2 oil pumps)
- possibly 2nd 02 sensor (unless you reuse your existing one's)
- reuse your existing Y7 exhaust manifold
- 3-wire IACV - btw, you'll want to reuse your complete Y7 intake manifold on the B7 engine, it should bolt right up.
