Default D15B8 Problem

My car doesn't accelerate untill 3000 RPM approx. the hotter it gets, the worse the car performs... if i press the gas a little bit it start to accelerate, but if i press the gas a little bit more than that point it just goes BAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH and does not accelerate. It has new sparkplugs, new spark wires, i checked the fuel pump, i cleaned the throttle body, i checked also the distributor, and nothing. Im a mechanic and i cant get this problem out of my car. i need help!

Thanks!

I know you've replaced alot of the ignition but you should check the spark anyway, at least to test the ICM. Check the spark at all four wires with a spark tester or a new plug. If all of the sparks are strong, use a meter to test the signal voltage of the MAP sensor.

the spark plugs are new... they doesn't have 100 miles... anyway i'll find the way to check the spark... how can i do it?

also what is voltage that the signal of the MAP Sensor should have?

thanks a lot!

Disable the injectors and get a new or known good spark plug. Wear gloves (welding gloves work great), preferably with latex or nitrile gloves underneath, and remove a spark plug wire from its plug. Connect the good plug to the end of the wire and hold the plastic deep-well tube at the very tip of the wire end with the threads of the plug touching bare metal on the valve cover. Have an assistant crank the motor while you watch the spark, carefully keeping all body parts away from the plug, motor and car body. Different types of plugs have different colored sparks but usually a good spark is a thick, strong flow of bright pink or is at least bright. Little blue or pink "lightning bolts" indicate a weak ignition. Check all four wires. This will test your entire ignition.

Perform this test when the motor is hot and the problem is at its worst.

The MAP sensor signal voltage should be about half a volt at normal idle.

Thanks a lot!! I'll do it and I'll let you know the results!

thanks again!

Well... the problem was that the engine jumped a tooth of the timing belt.

now ... Tuesday I was coming to my house (even with tooth jumped) began to accelerate as vibrating, when it stays in idle, the engine is calmed ... but when I open the throttle and accelerate it starts vibrating and sounds like a volky, once established is serene ... I check the resistance of the injectors and they are all in 14.5 approx. I clean the distributor once again and the rotor, I tried with another spark plugs and still, as I said earlier cables are new ... it's as if it were accelerating on 3 cylinders.
check the compression and the results were these:

Cyl # 1 160 psi
Cyl # 2 165 PSI
Cyl # 3 170 PSI
Cyl # 4 170 PSI

I know the compression results are not the best, but I've seen hondas with worse compression and don't have this behavior
Note also that the day it started doing this problem was raining and it was from one moment to another, and the engine was making force

My fear is if it bent a valve, but in this case not even stay in stable idle ... I am also thinking it is charcoal in the intake manifold, since runing about 1 week with the other problem (belt jumped 1 thooth)

My biggest suspicion is that a problem is spark or gasoline ... but i cant get it
I tested spark and its good...

Any ideas or someone who has passed something similar?

Oddly enough my d15b8 did they same exact thing; it refused to rev over 3800rpm at wot and would actually decelerate with a loud BAAAAAAHH. I just dealt with it because that motor doesn't make any power anyway...then I swapped my car and junked the d15b8

that's my idea... swap the D15B8 for something funnier... but I need the car running while i get the money to do the swap

So after setting the valve timing correctly it vibrates under load? You don't have a bent valve. If a valve was bent, the compression in that cylinder would be much lower.

Make sure ignition timing is set properly. Check the air and fuel filters. You should borrow a fuel pressure gauge from a parts store if you can't find the problem.

Have you checked the valve clearances?
