Default heater/ac stopped blowing

My 2002 civic stopped blowing air on all settings. The salvage yard told me to check the relay before replacing the control unit. Is there a relay behind the glove box in addition to the relay in the main fuse compartment in the engine compartment? Thanx!

I checked that one and it looks good. Also the relay above it is the relay and it seems fine. So I guess I'll go with replacing the control unit in the dash. A salvage yard has one pretty cheap so I'll go that route. Thanx.

I would check the blower motor transistor first. Very seldomly does an ac control unit fail... except in crxs

Searched transistor and found this thread hope it helps https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...ght=transistor

Power transistor checked out at 1.5 ohms. Got a code of 12 which is blower motor circuit. I remember spilling a drink or two on the control assy ***** so that might be what caused the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to do some reading tonight.

Big thanx to KWay for the lead on the existing thread! Helped out a lot.

If you only have 1 speed working, it's indicative of it being the resistor. If it's not working at all it's usually the head or the blower motor itself. Try running 12v direct to the blower motor. If it works then it's probably the head.

The 2001 climate controls are too integrated into other **** for their own good from what I remember.

I got my car put back together and everything is working. But, when I set it to the two defrost settings the recirc button doesn't ligth up/turn on. Since the day I bought my car from the dealer it has. While working on my car I had disconnected the ECM and battery and went through the process of starting the car up and keeping it at 3k rpm. Confused.
But like I said everything is working. Any ideas?

After two days of heater blower working it stopped. Took it to my friends at Murray Auto Electric and they said it was the resistor. Got one ordered from Honda. A few days later it did kick on for a while but hasn't worked since. Go figure. Should of listened to you guys in the first place. Quick Note: If you want to save money on Honda parts google honda estore and order direct. The parts are cheaper than going to the dealer. Especially if your in area where the cost of living is higher such as D.C. or N.Y. etc.
