Default D15B7 vs. D15B2.........What's the difference????

Apart from which vehicles (models and years) they were produced in, are there any differences between the D15B7 and the D15B2 engines? If so, what are they? Pros and Cons of each? Anything would be helpfull. Thanks.

calm down sport.

as you probably already know..

d15b2 came from the 88-91 dx/lx. makes 92 hp at 6k rpm, 89 ft lbs at 4500 rpm. Redline at 6800. 9.2:1 compression ratio.
The sucky thing about this engine (in stock form) is the fact it is dpfi, not mpfi. meaning it is a dual injection configuration

d15b7 is from the 92-95 dx/lx. Makes 102 hp at 5900 rpm. Redline at 6800. 98 ft lbs tq at 5000rpm. 9.2:1 compression. This motor actually has 4 injectors as opposed to 2.

Learn to use google.

so if wanted just to convert a b2 to a b7, not swapping the whole engine, would it be possible?

and, if so, what would i have to do?

thanks,
franp

You can swap the engine in, and use the B2 intake and exhaust manifolds. The only difference I can think of is you'll have to swap over the drivers side mount (mount that actually bolts to the block) and also run the fan switch to the B7's thermostat housing from the B2's location on the back of the block.

^Convert it from DPFI to MPFI and you basically just made your B2 into a B7. If you want to go a step further you can change from pre OBD to OBD1 (if you're not already OBD1 that is) and run the correct ECU.

Yes, the trans is the same. I just swapped a B2 in and took the B7 on my 93 DX.
