Default cylinder missfire, code 72

I have a 97 accord wagon, it’s given me a code 72 missfire, and I have change the cap, rotor, wires and sparkplugs twice. I reset the ecu and wipe the codes and it will go a way for 3 months and then its back. So I rebuilt the head change the rings, cleaned the EGR and I change again wire cap rotor and sparkplugs, there was no code for 2 months and its back! And this time it will not go away. Please I need some help. Thanks.

dtc 72 is a cylinder miss fire. AKA as p0302
cylinder # 3 miss fire or a fuel trim issue lots of reasons it coded up for it.
you need to have it looked at by some one with a advanced scanner or take it to honda so the data list can be viewed to see whats going on.

I will take it to a Honda dealer, but my friend has a 2001 accord ex and it has the same problem, he did the same tune-up I did (wires, cap, rotor and sparkplugs) he was able to rest it but it came back in 2 weeks. So he took it to the dealer and they ask him if he had Honda parts (OEM) on the car, he said no, that’s your problem! He spent close to$300 for the tune-up at the dealer, was rest and a month it came back. He did not want to take it back to the dealer because they rip him off. He still has the problem.

I have the identical car, I have 2, accords wagon 97, running, and I will like to try some thing, anything but I do not want to start taking the whole car apart. Were I can start testing, the ECU or distributor ext…thanks.

make sure you ask for a print out of the data list and post your results so we can see what the car is doing.
a known fact that some after market plugs dont run well in hondas period.

Keep in mind that the plugs are NGK ZFR5F-11.
