Micrometer sets arent cheap especially if u get a quality set.. i belive they are only sold in sets of five 0-5 in
heh i forgot it also takes some practice to learn how to read them correctly
ive seen guys that have been building motors for years read a mic wrong.. and then i give them a look like they've been smoking crack, then get this look on there face (damn i just got schooled buy that stupid young punk) priceless

if you dont have any previous experiance in how to use them, i would recomend takeing it to a shop and having them measure it to see if the journals arent tapered or out of wear spec, and if the crank is in need of a lil refurbashing they can micropolish the journals for you

Id definitley have the cranked turned and polished..Might actually have to find a new crank..Looks to me either the motor was ran on low oil or the guy before had a monster clutch in the car with no stop and the motor crank walked..As far as the block as well, id atleast have a machine shop check it over and see if he can re hone the block and get the crack out..Not worth putting the money into it and that becoming an issue after the rebuild..

See, that's the thing, i don't have very much money in this thing at all and if I am going to start dumping money into a block i want it to be a B20. It's just a B16

Dont turn honda cranks, if a micro polish wont get the crank usable, buy a new one.

I have some updated pics of the crank. It looks pretty toasted. Do you guys think i should even bother taking it to the machine shop?

Lol. From the looks of those pictures, you should EASILY be able to feel those marks with your nail. If so, personally I wouldn't waste the time. If it is fixed, it will be ground. You will then need to run oversized bearings from then on. Like I said, rods and crank from 30k mile B16A2 here. $100 + ship!
