Custom Exhaust
Aright my question is about a custom exhaust.
Ill post a link to the how to at the bottom.
Basically its mandrel bent piping that you cut and weld the length of the exhaust and add a cat and muffler.
questions -
1) would a flow master be a good idea in muffler choice, mainly because I have one sitting in my garage (so its free)
heres an ebay action with a muffler that looks the same: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...item=1844356323
2 1\4 inch inlet and exit.
2) does it matter where on the piping the exhaust goes... so long as it fits of course? In case I found a spot I could fit it besides the stock location.
3) If I made it now, it would hook up to a D16z6 NA. Would it be much trouble cuting and welding or extending and welding to a B series in the future. And then much trouble to connect to a downpipe for a turbo?
with the flow- since its 2 1\4, would it be pointless to have a 3in pipe? Any gains or losses from that bottleneck?
4) size of the pipes. Since the plan is to eventally turbo, 3 in would be best. Basically wondering what I would lose with such a large pipe on the d16, and the b until the cash comes in.
5) Sounds not that important to me, but Id really hate it if I was one of those guys with the high pitched bees. I dont know the physics of the sound waves going through the pipes so I dont know if muffler would change it much or a lot. So any info here would be helpful.
Sorry if any of these questions are a repeat, just flame me
