CTR cams question
I'm about to install my CTR cams with valvesprings in my B16A,but I'm running on the stock ECU P30 (8200RPM cutoff),do I have to chip my ECU to get the full potential of these cams?Cause I know CTR can rev to 8500RPM without problems!
Thanks
Thanks
I put ctr cams in my b16. I had to chip the ecu because vtec was at 4800 which is way too low for those cams. I got a "generic" chip which is actually a copy of a spoon chip that put vtec at 5500 and redline at 8700 so no more bogging when vtec kicks. The chip was $20 on ebay. Very easy to install.
dont waste 125....too much. i know a guy that does it for 80. you need your reev limiter to about 8500 to 9000, it really depends on your setup. My setup (seen below) required my to go to 9k to get full potential. good luck

Yeah that's right i'm getting ITR valvesprings with CTR cams.
So,8200 RPM is it OK for CTR or I have to rev to 8600 or more to get the full potential of CTR cams???

Oh sorry, i guess i need to fully read before i post up pointless info like that again.
But reving to 8.2K is fine, but if you have all the other stuff in there and that chip with more fuel, 8.6K is fine for the CTR cams. I think I remember seeing a dyno and the cams power dyes off around 8.5 or 8.6K RPM.
