Crvtec Piston ?
I am rebuilding my crvtec and i was wondering if there was any advice or knowledge that any 1 can give me
this is a first time rebuild on it i don't have the money for sleeves and the motor needs to be redone.
so the ideal piston would be 84.25 w/ a .010. overbore w/ 10.5:1 compression
i am not doing turbo.. i really want to do an all motor set up.
being that stock crv is 84mm i was wondering since i am not sleeving it if the 84.5 is to much out of the cylinder walls because using aftermarket 84mm wouldn't be that great and i would be burning 2 much oil..
so i was wondering if any 1 has any suggestions for me thanks
any and all help is appreciated.
thanks

84.5 overbore is not to much on the stock sleeves. there are some guys running 85mm on the stock sleeves with the right tuning.
if the pistons and rings you choose are of good quality and the machine shop who is doing the bore and hone is good at what they do then you should have no problems with it at all.
personally i would not get anything less than 12:1CR if you are going N/A. also look into a set of eagle/crower/probe rods. stock rods and aftermarket forged pistons dont really work togeather without custom machine work....
hope this helps
