my b20z2(totally usdm spec) idles at 2,500-2,000 at first crank. the engine runs a lil warmer than others i've noticed. and after it warms up, it DOES drop to the norm. so i guess unless both are engines are weird, u'rez is just fine

How does the b20z feel in the civic? I want to drop one in to my wifes ek 4door, she needs more merging power. There's one catch, she demands automatic, so I'm thinking a b20z short block, a ls head with a decent cam, and an ls auto tranny.

any oppinions? i think i may be the first person on earth interested in an auto tranny swap.

Just fet a full b20z head and block (heads are pretty much the same as the b18b) and put a nice B18 cam in it liek crower stage 1. It feels great, Its nice to have a civic and have lowend. With LS intake manifold and throttle body (a must) but you can always get a Skunk2 intake manifold and ITR throttle body. You should get a aftermarket header too while u are doign upgrades... after that umm your wifes car should be a VERY reliable automatic 14 second grocery getter! All i have on mine is B18b Intake Manifold, Throttle Body, Cams, JUN 4-1 header and the rest is stock and i ran a 14.94 @ 93 mph with GSR tranny... its a great setup and i think it was worth the money.

my car seems pretty normal when its starts...but one thing i noticed that i think is weird...it warms up pretty quick (about twice as fast then stock B18C1)... and it stays pretty hot..maybe just about -10 degrees from middle..and it doesnt move from there...even on cold nights driving 75mph on freeway.. my old engine, the temp droped with the same conditions..
