crome and hondata the same chip??
i bought an ecu from a guy on ebay who says he will chip it with either uberdata, crome, or hondata and he says that they are all the same chip?? does that sound right?
They all can use the same style chip, but just because he said he chipped the program using Hondata, doesn't mean you can use it without the Hondata box.
Don't call other people bad names out of anger. It only shows ignorance.

yes they all use a rewrite-able rom chips. Most car people who sell them to you are going to rip you off. Just to let you know. Find one from digikey or jameco or something. If you go with the 512(27sf512) which is the norm now, your going to have to burn the same bin file twice to the chip and offset the hex address. I'd suggest buying a burner as well and maybe go to your library and find yourself a book on digital electronics.
