Default cranksahft dosen't spin

hi , just quicky

I've just assembled bottom of my h22 engine , all clearances were checked and seemed to be ok according to user manual

the thing is I can't spin the crankshaft , I should add there is no head yet .
Is it normal ...????

Did you check to see if the crankshaft is bent?

actually I didn't , but it was taken out of a car in working order never causing any problems so I thought it was good enough to use it

You should always check cranks for bend before installing them. It's easy to do, just install the front and rear bearings and put a dial indicator on the center journal. Even .001" bend could cause the crank to bind.

it isn't normal... did you check for rotation before installing the pistons/rods? With only the crank installed and lubed up you should be able to spin the crank by hand with a few fingers on the nose of the crank.

Umm did you use all the same main caps and in the right way pointing towards the timing belt? And by any chance did you miss match the rod caps?
