crank problems
alright i am building a lsvtec and i have a gsr crank yeah i know stupid but anyways, we get the crank in and it's not spinning freely. like it actually takes 2 people to turn the crank over. anybody know why this is happening and any way to fix this. any help is appreciated
if the engine is assembled with head and timing belt on, make sure you have tdc lined up and the cams correct. I had a friend do what you are describing and he was bending the valves every time he was forcing it to rotate

your tolerances are probably to tight causing the binding...are your main caps torqued to the correct spec?........are u using a "turned" crank with custom bearings or OEM....?are u using the original main caps?...

so whats the purpose of going ls/vtec
if what you are trying to the ls/stroke not the gsr/stroke?
better yet
b16a block with b17a crank and b16 rods.

aftermarket bearings, stock end caps and the end caps aren't even on finger tight, the end caps are just laying on there. as for the crank being a gsr, i was a dumbass when i picked it up so don't ask too many questions about that cause i know i fucked up
Did you measure the diameter of the mains on the crank and compare them to the bearings? What if you take the caps off and just have the crank sitting on the upper bearing shells? Will it turn OK then?
If the bearings are the correct size, I would seriously consider the possibility of a bent crank or damaged block.
As far as the GSR crank instead of the LS, you lost less than 1.5% displacement but gained a crank that was designed to run 8K all day. Assuming that the one you have is any good, that is.
