Default Crank Fluctuation Sensor (CKF Code 54) Did search

Hey guys,

I've searched all over the net, on the CEL code 54, but all I get is something in the lines of:

-solutions to trick the computer
-replace the sensor
-swap related advice (jdm into usdm etc)
-obd2-obd1 jumper harness

None of the threads/topics I came up searching had actual solutions to why the Crank Fluctuation may have been detected in the first place.

Assuming everything is wired and functioning correctly, what would cause this CEL 54 to turn on?

The reason I ask, is that mine came on when I was backing out of my driveway (uphill) and I'm thinking the vibrations from the clutch chatter and grabbing may have set it to turn on.

I disconnected the battery and the light hasnt returned. I'm under the assumption that the sensor detected a fluctuation (in this case, probably a misfire during a near-stall situation, like me backing out of my driveway).

Thanks in advance.

Oh yeah its a 1997 Integra GS 5speed

Hiding a fault from yourself doesn't fix your car. Why would someone cheat themselves out of a proper and realiable running car with a simulated repair like that. It's just for pretend, I think he actually wants to fix his car.

No other faults? You should not erase the faults, that way it'll eventually stored a misfire fualt and tell you which cylinder to check out. How do your plugs look?

its a trick.

its a simple fix by putting a new one on or tricking the ecu. I don't see the problem. same way for people that have Honda civic CX, and want to get ride of the fuel sensor code because they don't have it, you trick the ecu to see 5 volts to that sensor. doesn't hurt a thing.
