i am doing a swap...'00 b16 into a 98 ex civic. i am using the ex harness, si motor and ecu. i repinned what needed to be according to diagrams. i am stuck with one cel and it is for the crank position sensor. here is the thing...the si crank sensor has only a two wire plug (wht/red and a blue/red). the ex sensor has a three wire plug (wht/red, brn/blk, and blue and red). the brown is obviously a ground. on the ex, it is chasis ground and not ecu. i color matched the other two wires and even toned them to the end by ecu to know i was pinning the right wires. i checked and they are pinned at the right locations at ecu. i figured the sensor just ground itself to the motor since there was no ground coming off the sensor. i am not sure and the people i have asked so far are unsure. can someone who knows for sure or if they have a two wire crank sensor verify the grounding of this sensor...i don't know if i have to ground it or not. thank you.
