Default Crank Angle Sensor (Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation)

Hey Everyone,

I'm stumped on a problem and need some help. I have a 1998 GSR that has a 1994-1995 OBD1 GSR motor in it. It had all the OBD2 sensors, ECU, and wiring excpet for the crank angle sensor when I got it; hence, it threw a CEL code 54. We changed the oil pump, gear, and added the sensor from a B16A2. The thing still throws CEL 54 and we don't know why or how to get rid of it. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Aligned wrong maybe, does it match up to a magnet or something on the crank? Check helms?

Common problem I run into:
The wire for the sensor runs dangerously close to the alternator belt and is often times cut.

Are you running the trigger wheel from the 98 GSR?
