Default Cracked Head

Was wondering if any one has ever had a problem with a hairline crack going from an intake valve to the spark plug hole. I pick up a JG pr3 and aftercleaning it a noticed a small crack. I took it to a local machine shop and the told me almost 500 to fix it, Ive been trying to get a hold of jg to see what they recommend. any help would be appreciated

Return and get a new one if its just out of the box and haven't installed it. Do a leak-down test if installed. But I would just return it and get a new one anyways. Do you know the extent of the crack, depth and length? How does this crack effect the structural integrity of the head, too many unknowns, its not worth it.

$500 to repair? How much did you pay for the JG?
