fans always running ,no vtec ,and hits revlimiter at 6500 on 94 prelude vtec?

If the ECU thinks the coolant temperature is below 60oC, the VTEC will not operate and the engine RPM will limit at 6500 RPM. Also these conditions apply if the car is doing below 20 kph.

It could be either your ECT sensor or your VSS (Vehicle speed sensor).

The fan is not controlled by the ECT sensor, but by a separate temperature switch located in the thermostat housing.

You could test the ECT senor by measuring its resistance at the following temperatures:

Engine cold / Coolant temp 20oC = approx 3K ohms
Engine warm / Coolant temp 80oC = 300 ohms

If your ECT sensor is working properly then the sensor should read BELOW 500 ohms when the engine is up to operating temperature.

thanks for the help

btw i'm getting 3 cel's

6 ect

10 iat

22 vtec p switch

i just did a h22 swap into a 93 prelude and cranked it up and this is what i'm getting

can you think of anything i may have gotten out of order? all sensor's are plugged up.

and if i unplug the ect sensor the fan cuts off

The fans are controlled by a temperature switch on the thermostat housing.

It seems to me that you have got your sensor connections mixed up.
