confusing starting problem
ok, so im having some problems with my ef. originally it started with my tranny goin bad. so i got a tranny off a friend, bought a new clutch kit, and swapped it all in.
well now im having trouble getting it to start. it tries to turn over, but turns slowly. thought it was the battery, so i got one from a friend, and he let it charge for a little over a day, and tried that. still not it, so i pulled my starter off. here's what it looked like when i pulled it off.

i saw the bent part and assumed that was the problem, and went ahead and picked up a new starter from a friend. got it on and it started once, killed it and tried again to make sure that it would keep starting, and it wouldnt start anymore. ive checked the ground going to the starter, and it seems to be getting a good connection. does anyone know what this could be????? any help would be appreciated. the cars been down since before halloween and its my daily, so i need my car back! lol. oh and the car is a 91 civic hatch with a jdm d15b vtec. someone please help!

with a volt meter measure voltage on the starter signal wire while someone has the key in the start position. If you have battery voltage there and on the main starter lug from the battery you have a faulty starter.
alright. i dont have a meter to use right now, so i may just pull the starter and take it up to autozone and see. if i can get ahold of a meter id rather do that though. but ill try. thanks
